Shorthand Writing is a method of communication in which letters, words, or sentences are represented by symbols. You can write more quickly than you can with standard handwriting by using shorthand symbols. There are different kinds of shorthand writing. Sir Isaac Pitman created the first modern method in 1837. Shorthand is used to record all that is spoken so that it can be written down at a speed that is close to that of speech.
